About Steve Tschoepe
and Only1 Music

Only1 is the solo project of Steve Tschoepe of San Antonio, Texas, where he's taken contemporary choruses, classic hymns, and Christmas carols, and arranged them in an instrumental “smooth jazz” style. Because they are instrumental (no vocals), they fit any setting. Church, office, home, etc...
The name: It is an indicator of two things.
- Only1 is a solo act. A "one-man-band." You'll see "only one" musician.
- Most importantly, the music is -with rare exception- all Christian and inspirational. The name comes from 1 Timothy 2:5, which tells us that there’s only “one God, and
one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
In this artist's mind, there’s only One worth making music for.
The recordings: All the music that you hear is performed, arranged, recorded, mixed, and engineered by Steve. He does get help from John Moore and ResTrax Music, who skillfully masters the songs in preparation for burning them to CDs. Thanks John!
Live events: Although you’ll see only one musician on guitar, the sound is one of a complete combo thanks to the original arrangements and modern digital multi-track recording and keyboard technology. (No pre-recorded tracks are ever used!) While the primary style is smooth jazz, you’ll notice many influences in the music, including big band, pop, reggae, blues and rock. The overall style might be best categorized as "dinner music."
Vocals: Steve loves to sing and worship and lead worship, and regularly does so at his home church, The Church at Canyon Lake, as well as at other para-church events. But you won't hear Steve's voice as Only1. If you want to hear him sing, you'll need to contact him about your worship event. Or visit him at the Lake!
